Thank you. I did buy the movie some days ago, Not knowing about a Second Version. Always appreciated.
RARELUST makes the Internet great-Thanks for the Kubrick extras!
Dear Sir, thank you so much for these great releases: this is one of the best pages ever posted of this wonderful website.
I myself and some of us have been coming here every ten days for ages to find precisely this kind of posts: Fear and Desire, Girl with Hyacinths, 13 Assassins, Zatoichi, Qivitoq, Mapantsula… Great movies. We may have everything by Kubrick (I do), but may be we do not have THAT commentary, that short film in HQ, the non-theatrical version of Fear and Desire. Thank you.
If you ever decide to set up a “buy me a coffee” service, it would be easier for us to show our appreciation.
Have a nice weekend!
Amen.
Nice, thanks! Unearthing anything by Kubrick at this point is like “previously unreleased” material by some great rock n roll band, his debut here is actually public domain now, bur with all the shorts in extras makes a great compilation anyway. Plot-wise lost in a forest amidst a war we never see where emotions are frayed reminds a Twilight Zone environment, or that Japanese GI who was fighting WW2 marooned in a forest alone until the ’70s.
Excellent. One of a few Kubrick’s I’ve not seen and always great to hear commentaries on his stuff. Also, had no idea about those short films he did.
REally? That’s a nice one. Thank You!
