I’ve just recently caught a glimpse of this film on COMET-TV…just a glimpse, because I came in late and was doing a channel-flip. Naturally, I’ve been wanting to see this film EVER SINCE I became a “Doctor Fan”–way back in the ’70s with Tom Baker–and since I’ve first even heard about it (via CinemaFantasique Magazine–how I MISS that publication…it was beyond encyclopedic.). NOW, I can finally take the whole thing in the right way.
THIS, Rarelust, is WHY we love you and you continue to ROCK. Thanks.
Another home run for RL!
First watched this around the time of the series itself ..mid 60’s…. and to see those damn Daleks in color was equally as thrilling as it was scary!
I had a few sleepless nights thinking about the mayhem they could do if they real and were unleashed!
Great first movie effort from ‘The Dr Who’ camp….with the brilliant Peter Cushing almost emulating the dithery but classic original Doctor…William Hartnell.
The commentary is also superb and listening to Jennie Linden and Roberta Tovey recalling memories and scenes and Peter C ..and the wonderfully talented so under rated..and so much missed Roy Castle in particular…make it a must for all fans of the series….or who just love those great sci fi flicks of the 60’s!!
Commentary is with actors Jennie Linden (Barbara) and Roberta Tovey (Susan), and moderator/journalist Jonathan Sothcott, author of “The Cult Films of Christopher Lee”.
Another Must-Have just for the commentary track!
Thanks again!
