Caught this original classic version only once, and have been dying to finally take it in properly (as in, “non broadcast”). Of course, the resulting CBS-TV Series (which was reduced to a situation comedy—that went for nearly 10 Seasons) is not on the same level as the dramatic original film (despite a couple of the cast returning for the show). This true version tugs at the heartstrings.
