Description: Elizabeth Montgomery stars as Lizzie Borden, a 19th-century Massachusetts woman, who is put on trial for the brutal slaughter of her father and step-mother in the family mansion. She is accused of hacking up her parents with an ax after carefully removing her clothes to avoid bloodstains. Based on fact and considered shocking at the time for a TV-movie.

Thank you very much for sharing with subtitles!
This was the start of the “pretty actresses need to be ugly” phase of Hollywood. Montgomery, like Andy Griffith, has a hard time shedding their TV images for other roles and had to play dark chercters. This would go on with “sex symbol” stars well into the 2000s.
Thanks for this rare gem.
Another “School Night” Classic from THE ABC MOVIE OF THE WEEK. While not as “Forever-Stuck-In-Your-Gut”-worthy as the previous year’s (1974) “Trilogy Of Terror”, this movie is notable for being Elizabeth Montgomery’s “villain” turn. And this was just over a year after her first TV-Movie Terror, NBC’s controversial “A Case Of Rape.”
Thanks, Rarelust.
This was not an ABC MOTW but an ABC Monday Night Movie. MsOTW were edited to about 74 minutes to fit a 90 minute time slot. Lizzie is 96 minutes to fit the 9-11 pm time slot. Some details about the ‘nudity’: https://AManAndAMouse.blogspot.com/2014/04/lizzie-borden-dances-books-operas-of.html
