Tuesday Weld did this movie for me. But McQueen is also good. Don’t care much for the script-story, though. Must be difficult to make a movie with long scenes of poker playing interesting to a wide audience.
Script was originally done by the great Paddy Chayefsky. Real jazz funeral scene at beginning.
If you want a good film where every actor shows up to work, this is your movie.
Commentaries are with (1) director Norman Jewison, and (2) Phil Gordon and Dave Foley, the hosts of Celebrity Poker Showdown (scene-specific – 47:04 mins.)
