    How good was that?

  2. Martine says:

Damn, I think the theatrical cut doubled in size from I saw it the other day. What happened?

These are great. Just out of h.s. when this were released. I saw a version on tbs or tnt once, I wish I’d been recording. It showed the Warriors gathering and changing from day clothes into colors. Swan was a mechanic, Ajax a security guard, Cowboy, Cochise, and Snow wore letter jackets, Fox wore a suit, Cleon’s wife was carrying a baby. I’d love to find that version some where.

  4. From Chicago says:

Huge thanks for the HD Theatrical version! It’s the one I prefer. RL with the clutch score!

  5. Mr.G. says:

Thanks RL/Gregg for both versions in one post. The film should be reshot as a cartoon animation instead of a Director’s Cut with cartoon inserts.

Yurick’s 1965 novel from which the film was adapted begins with the Xenophon actual story, so Director’s Cut just intended to capture Walter Hill’s motive. But as Danny Peary (Cult Movies/1980) points it’s a fun film anyway “cartoonlike violence, characters brutally beaten a minute earlier getting up perfectly intact”, and with “the best-staged fight-sequences since the death of Bruce Lee”.

The poster with the fold damage fixed. Took a lot of work across the back ground on all that fuzzy detail. Some digital JPEG garbage smoothed out as well. Great for your personal media server: http://www.imagebam.com/image/f9e8f11358333199

  7. OSMOSIS says:

Not just ONE, but BOTH Versions of “THE WARRIORS”. Time to “Come Out And Plaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!”
    Rarelust, THANK YOU!!

  8. Ali says:

It’s really great that the theatrical version was included here. As the other guy said, it’s the one everyone wants. I didn’t know that the only way to get that original version was from a German bluray release. Thanks for going the extra distance for us film fanatics.

  9. Joe says:

Basically a modern-day retelling of Xenophon’s “Anabasis, or The March Upcountry”, which in its original form recounted the story of a Greek mercenary unit fighting its way home across the Middle East after their Persian employer got killed.

  10. Gregg says:

Everyone wants the original theatrical cut (without the comic book transitions) from Blu Ray. You listed this as the Director’s Cut. There was a limited edition German Blu of the theatrical cut that went out of print very quickly. It would be great if you could find that.
