I’m so glad this place isn’t politically correct. Or I would probably never see this film. Let alone have it in my library. Thanks for all the hard work and the info from the user comments. Lawanda Page worked with Pigmeat Markham as well as Red Foxx. And my personal favorite Moms Mabley, a true trail blazer.

“Mabley’s standup routines were riotous affairs augmented by the aesthetic she presented as being an older, housedress-clad figure who provided sly commentary on racial bigotry to African American audiences. Her jokes also pointed towards a lusty zest for younger men. Yet, belying that persona, offstage she had a glamorous, chic look and was known to be a lesbian.”

Possibly one of the greatest motion pictures ever made.

    Should have won multiple Oscars!

You are doing the lord’s work

Yup—I called it (PREVIOUSLY–in the comments for “THE HUMAN TORNADO”). As I mentioned in THAT comment–this is the original title…and was ADVERTISED in NEWSPAPERS as such. XENON Video (based in Atlanta, GA.) did release a VHS version, but used the movie’s “sub-title” for it’s release. SAW Wildman Steve Gallon in performance with Rudy Ray Moore, LaWanda (Aunt Esther) Page and BLOWFLY (without his mask, and wearing a caped tux, as Clarence Reid), around 1983. Great show.
