I saw this back in the 90’s and it has stayed in my mind all these years. There are very few movies that can do that to me. There are many movies that have followed this theme but none of them have the power or atmosphere that The Collector had. It is dark, disturbing, downright creepy and so well made.
IMHO one of the greatest movies of all time – I thought so 50-odd years ago and still do. For a somewhat cheesy, but still very enjoyable, soft-core knock-off, have a look at “Private Obsession” from 1995. Available on this site as well. Thank you.
